Lucy we live Hawaii

2014/12/03 ¡Ã Category¡§Hawaii Information

I went home to visit my parents house, and I really miss waking up to this view everyday! It’s nice to get out of the city and escape higher up the mountains where it’s much cooler. ?Living in the city really allows you to appreciate the scenery. You can see Diamond Head all the way in the background. It is crazy though, the amount of high rises there are now. My dad used to check the surf every morning at Ala Moana because we used to be able to see the beach in between the buildings. But now, I don’t think there are any spots that you can see the waves through all the construction and new apartments being built. Hawaii’s getting crowded, but I still love it! I wouldn’t live in any other place?sunwave ?

Wiliwili Nui hike, Waialae Iki

2014/11/22 ¡Ã Category¡§Hawaii Information

This week I went on one of the best hikes on Oahu. It is a bit long, but sooo worth it! You start in the gated community on top of Waialae Iki hill, and hike on top of the ridge all the way until you are over-looking the windward side. There are some parts that may require you to use a rope for balance, but they are already attached to the mountain, you just have to trust them! I would not recommend this hike for children or people with knee problems since there are a few stairs and some parts can be narrow and slippery. Also, if it is muddy from the rain, don’t go. But, if the weather permits, you will experience a view that is unlike any other. Once you reach the lookout point at the end, you can see all of Honolulu when you look back the way you came and all of Waimanalo, Kailua, and Kaneohe when you look straight ahead.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Have a great day!
